Tenth Goya for El Ranchito

Best special effects by Society of the Snow!

J.A. Bayona's film won 12 awards out of 13 nominations, making it the third most awarded film in Spanish cinema. Among them, for the Best Special Effects category. From El Ranchito, we want to congratulate the productions that also opted for the Goya for this category.: 20,000 Species of Beess, La ermita, Tin & Tina y Shadows Valley.

This recognition is a testament to the hard work and creativity of our team, headed by VFX Supervisors Felix Bergés and Laura Pedro, along with Pau Costa, physical effects specialist. The exciting ceremony of the 38th edition of the Goya Awards, held in Valladolid last February 10th, was hosted by the iconic Ana Belén and Los Javis. Our president and Effects Supervisor on the film, Félix Bergés, has eight statuettes, and Laura Pedro, two (being the first woman to receive it as VFX Supervisor).

El Ranchito adds with this its tenth Goya, highlighting its contribution to this victory. We are proud to have collaborated for the fourth time with J. A. Bayona, after the previous successes of The Impossible and A Monster calls  (both awarded with Goyas), as well as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Congratulations to all our team at El Ranchito, Felix, Laura, as well as the VFX supervisor of the project at El Ranchito, Ezequiel Larrú, and our VFX producer Carolina Pinillos. Bravo to all of them!
