Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts

The Council of Ministers of the Government of Spain, at the proposal of the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, has awarded El Ranchito the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts 2023. Among the 37 personalities and entities of the Spanish culture with which El Ranchito has the honor of sharing this distinction are the actresses Gemma Cuervo and Vicky Peña, the dancers Antonio Najarro and Lucía Lacarra, the playwright José Sanchís Sinisterra, the designer Modesto Lomba, the musical group Estopa, the Sorolla Foundation, the Chillida Leku Museum, the Almagro Theater Festival, the film directors Pablo Berger and Albert Serra and, posthumously, the journalist Maria Teresa Campos, the film director Patricia Ferreira, the actress Itziar Castro, the cartoonist Carlos Pacheco and the writer and communicator Miguel Ángel López Gonzales, better known as El Hematocrítico. The Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts is a recognition that honors individuals and entities that have excelled in the field of artistic and cultural creation or have rendered outstanding services in the promotion, development or dissemination of art and culture or in the conservation of artistic heritage. We thank the Ministry of Culture for this medal, which we are proud to receive, and we congratulate our brilliant team for having won it.
