Going for the tenth Goya

The Spanish Film Academy has nominated Society of the Snow in thirteen categories at the Goya Awards, including Best Special Effects, which is shared by our VFX Supervisors Félix Bergés and Laura Pedro, together with physical effects specialist Pau Costa. J. A. Bayona's film competes with 20,000 species of bees, La ermita, Tin & Tina and Valle de sombras. The 38th edition of the Goya Awards will be held in Valladolid on February 10 next year, at a gala to be presented by Ana Belén and Los Javis. Félix Bergés has won eight Goyas, Laura Pedro has two and was the first woman to win one as VFX Supervisor. El Ranchito, meanwhile, has nine Goyas, the last one in 2021 thanks to The Vault. From El Ranchito we congratulate Felix and Laura and wish them the best of luck. We are very grateful for having been able to collaborate for the fourth time with J. A. Bayona, after The Impossible, A Monster Calls (both Goya winners) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and very proud of the work of our team, led by our VFX Supervisor Ezequiel Larrú and our VFX Producer Carolina Pinillos.
