VFX Process

We’re sharing part of the VFX work developed for this project by our team: Carlos Puigdollers, VFX Supervisor, Deneb Sabater Ventura, VFX Producer, and Álvaro Moya, Compositing Supervisor.
Each shot presented a unique challenge, which we tackled by combining digital tools, animation, and 3D reconstruction to integrate the effects organically into the narrative.
From digital face replacements to shadows that interact with physical environments, here are some of the most interesting processes we developed:

DIGITAL SHADOW GENERATION

We created a digital double of the woman in the shadows in order to project her shadow onto a 3D recreation of the shooting set..

We also generated new lighting points on the surface of the house, allowing us to expand the illuminated areas and make shadow projections visible in more parts of the scene.
The animation team designed the movement of the shadow to reflect the personality of the character.

INTERACTIVE SHADOW GENERATION

We created a shadow capable of interacting with various on-set elements.
To achieve this, we removed all "visible" elements from the original footage, such as the wires moving the lamps and the cables supporting the actors.

The animation team used the previously generated digital double to project her shadow onto a 3D reconstruction of the set, creating the illusion that the shadow could move objects or characters.

Face Replacement

In one “contact-style” shot, it was necessary to digitally replace the face of the stunt double with that of the main actress.
Our assets team created a digital double of the actress, which we then used to train a machine learning model and achieve the final look of the effect.
