Fourth Gaudi for El Ranchito

We had two nominations, so we had twice as many chances. Finally, our VFX Supervisor Laura Pedro has won the Gaudí for Best Visual Effects for the film by Catalan director Isaki Lacuesta One Year, One Night, in a ceremony that took place on Sunday 22 January in the Sala Oval of the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC). Laura was also nominated for Valley of The Dead and this is her second Gaudí, as in 2019 she was awarded, also together with El Ranchito, for Javier Ruiz Caldera's film Superlópez. For El Ranchito this is his fourth Gaudí, since it has another three awards for Superlópez, A Monster Calls and Spy Time. One Year, One Night was one of the favourites in this 15th edition of the Gaudí Awards, as it started with fourteen nominations, of which it has managed to win five: Best Adapted Screenplay, Original Music, Editing, Sound and Visual Effects.
